NOTE: The “Body DR” is the DR of the pipe from which the fitting is made. The “End DR” is the DR of the ends of the fitting. The convention of the PE industry in the case of pressure applications is to fabricate fittings from pipe that is at least one standard DR thicker than the DR of the pipe to which it is fused. Best practice to maximize the life of the fusion between the pipe and the fitting and to reduce the variables present in the fusion process is to machine the ends of the fittings to match the DR of the pipe.
